The National Medical Association recognizes some of its distinguished  military men and women on Saturday, July 31, 2004 during its annual convention held in San Diego, CA.

"The generals and flag ranked officers of the United States Armed Forces are being recognized for their valor, commitment and achievement in the medical corps.  The National Medical Association pays homage in recognition of their career triumphs with great pride and reverence.  It is fitting to honor these distinguished leaders, as loved ones place their lives on the line for the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere globally.  The National Medical Association salutes these individuals and the many other unsung heroes of the Armed Forces."
